Touch Stream

Touch Stream by Marta Djourina

We cordially invite you to experience the launch of the newest project of Marta Djourina named “Touch Stream”. At the same time, we would like to use the occasion to toast Marta Djourina to her upcoming residency in New York and say goodbye to her for the two-month trip.

“Touch Stream“ is an app dedicated to the smartphone as an untapped aesthetic space of our everyday life. It uses interactively the visualization potential of touch to raise awareness of the act of touch itself.
In six “choreographies”, users are guided through the experience of different touches and their visualization. The gesture of touch thus gains importance and attention again beyond the purely functional context in our everyday use of smartphones, tablets or other devices with touch screens.

The individual “touch-images” within the app are based on the photographic-analogue series “Touchpoint” (ongoing since 2021), in which the moment of touch between a protagonist and a piece of analogue photo paper is preserved and fixed visually, using the historical method of Kirlian photography, initially created for medical purposes. Works from this series will also be on display at ROAM space.
